About this event

Objectives:

1. To discuss the changes to the Patient Care Life Support Basic Care Standards related to the Los Angeles Motor Scale (LAMS) including providing an overview of the tool, psychometric properties, rationale for use, changes it is making for patient care.

2. Discuss the LAMS implementation into practice and identify successes, opportunities and lessons learned.

3. To provide updates on Provincial Paramedic Stroke Protocol.

4. To provide a neuroanatomy, pathophysiology review of various stroke syndromes, include clinical presentations, link to anatomy and link to imaging.

5. To discuss how paramedics would vary their clinical assessment and management based on the various clinical stroke syndromes.

6. To discuss two pilot pre-hospital projects in Waterloo Wellington to improve Door to Needle Times and Door In and Door Out Times for endovascular therapy.

There is no registration fee for this workshop as it is sponsored by the Central South Regional Stroke Program.

The Centre for Paramedic Education and Research has awarded 4 CME hours/points for this event. A certificate of attendance will be provided after the workshop.
